Mage
Mage
Role: Ranged Area Damage
Damage Type: Magical
Combat Range: Long
Primary Weapon: Mage Staff
The Mage controls the battlefield through elemental magic, area damage, and debilitating effects.
Mages can burn enemies, slow their movement, stun groups, and strike several targets at once. Their strength comes from positioning and preparation rather than direct durability.
A Mage who remains at a safe distance can control entire encounters. A Mage caught without an escape route can be quickly overwhelmed.
Combat Style
The Mage is built for players who enjoy controlling fights from a distance with powerful magic. Fire and ice spells provide a mix of heavy area damage and crowd control, while slows, stuns, and teleportation help the Mage keep enemies where they want them and escape when necessary. The class rewards players who plan their spell combinations carefully and is especially dangerous when several enemies are grouped together.
Abilities
Arcane Missile - Passive
Repeated spellcasting builds arcane energy.
After casting enough abilities, several magical missiles appear and automatically seek nearby enemies.
Fireball - Basic Attack
Launch a burning projectile toward the target.
Fireball provides consistent ranged damage and allows the Mage to pressure enemies without entering close combat.
Blink
Teleport a short distance in the direction you are facing.
Blink can escape melee attackers, cross dangerous ground, or reposition for another spell.
Frost Nova
Release a wave of ice spikes around the targeted area.
Enemies caught by Frost Nova are damaged and heavily hindered, making them easier to avoid or strike with additional spells.
Meteor
Call an explosive meteor down upon the battlefield.
The impact damages and burns enemies, leaving a dangerous burning area behind for a short time.
Quake
Combo: Blink followed by Fireball
Create a sudden earthquake around your current position.
Nearby enemies are damaged and stunned, making Quake valuable after teleporting away from attackers.
Inferno Chains - Ultimate
Summon multiple chains of fire that restrain enemies.
The chains rupture the ground and trigger a powerful upward explosion, stunning and damaging targets caught within the area.
Party Role
In group content, Mages are most effective behind the frontline, where they can focus on clustered enemies and control dangerous areas with fire and ice. Well-timed stuns can interrupt threatening attacks, while Blink should usually be kept ready as an escape when positioning goes wrong. Staying away from bosses and other dangerous melee targets is essential.
The Mage becomes especially powerful when another class can gather several enemies into one place for its area attacks.
